We have always believed that Wray Village Store is more than just a place to buy your daily essentials. We are a hub for connection, run by the community, for the community. That is why we are thrilled to officially introduce the Wray Village Store Community Fund.
What is the Community Fund?
While our focus is on keeping costs low for our community, generating a modest profit is crucial. The Fund uses a small proportion of surplus profits. The Fund’s primary purpose is to support small projects and initiatives that demonstrably benefit the residents and community of Wray.
When we first opened our doors, we set out with a clear, long-term aim: to give back to our community in a meaningful, lasting way. We know that a thriving village relies on the passion of its residents and the health of its local groups. The Community Fund is the realisation of that long-term promise. By shopping with us, you aren’t just supporting a local business—you are directly investing in the future of our community.
Who Can Benefit?
To ensure the money makes a real difference where it matters most, the fund is strictly dedicated to projects that benefit the community as a whole within the parish of Wray-with-Botton.
What kind of projects are we looking for?
We want to fund small initiatives that bring people together, improve our shared spaces, or provide vital services. This could include:
- Improvements to local community spaces or amenities.
- Equipment or support for local clubs, societies, and volunteer groups.
- Environmental or beautification projects within the parish.
- Events that foster community spirit and inclusivity.
How long will the fund be open for?
You can apply any time. Funds will be available until they run out. Financing the fund in the future will be dependent upon our yearly surplus profits and this sum will be determined close to each AMM. We may withdraw the fund at any time.
